Create a natural, layered hardscape with our Wood Root Branches. Each order contains approximately 6 oz / 170 g of naturally shaped roots and branches measuring approximately 8–16 in / 20–40 cm in length.

Choose from thick root pieces, slender branches, or a mixed assortment to suit different aquascaping and terrarium designs. Use them individually or combine several pieces to build forest-style layouts, root systems, caves, arches, and natural hiding areas.

Natural Variation Notice

This is a natural product, so every pack will be different. The exact number of pieces, shape, thickness, color, branching pattern, curvature, and surface texture will vary.

The product images show examples of the general appearance you may receive. Natural cracks, knots, holes, uneven surfaces, cut ends, bark remnants, and broken branch tips are normal characteristics of real wood and are not considered defects.

Because this product is sold by weight, packs containing thicker roots will normally include fewer pieces than packs containing thinner branches.

Preparation Before Aquarium Use

1. Rinse the wood thoroughly with clean water.
2. Gently brush away loose dust, bark, and surface debris.
3. Soak the wood before placing it in the aquarium.
4. Boiling or extended soaking may help reduce tannins and allow the wood to become waterlogged faster.
5. Some pieces may float initially and may need to be held down with aquarium-safe rocks or other hardscape materials.
6. Natural wood may slightly tint the water during the initial soaking period. This is normal and usually decreases over time.

Use the thicker roots to create the main structure, then add thinner branches to produce depth, movement, and realistic root details. Since every pack contains naturally shaped wood, every finished aquarium or terrarium layout will be unique.
